She’s tough, tattooed and always ready to rumble. Well, at least if Bec “Rowdy” Hyatt lines up a babysitter first. Then it’s time for this Aussie import and MMA strawweight to really get it on.

The spunky 23-year-old from Brisbane has made a name for herself in the ring Down Under and in the U.S., putting together a decent 4-2 record.

Bec Hyatt, a very fit mama of two, the 2012 womens MMA fan favorite of the year and a self-described “former fatty” will happily tackle any interview topic, from confessing a secret love of burgers to deciding Justin Bieber isn’t all bad if he digs watching MMA now and then.

In January, Hyatt was featured in the title fight of Invicta FC 4, going five rounds against “Cookie Monster” Carla Esperaza. Though she lost in a unanimous decision, spectators said Hyatt’s boxing technique was spot-on, but Esperaza’s grappling ability gave her the edge to win the 115-pound belt. Hyatt got nice kudos from fans for filling the title card at short notice when Esperaza’s original opponent withdrew, plus praise from MMA legend and UFC Heavyweight Champion Bas Rutten, who said she “fought her heart out.”

Prior to Invicta 4, Hyatt racked up a streak of four Ws in 2012, including a TKO, a majority decision, a technical rear-naked choke submission and armbar submission.

She was the first Australian invited to join Invicta Fighting Championship. Her first pro bout was in 2011 at Tasmania’s Brace For War 12.
